The kithul tree known as toddy palm and the scientific name is “Caryota Urens”. The shape of Kithul leaf is like a tail of fish, so called it “fish tail palm”.

The custom of Sri Lankans to drink cup of tea with peace of juggery to relieve tired. Kithul treacle and juggery have delicious sweetness. Normally sweet foods are harmfull to diabetics, the use of kithul juggery and treacle is not detrimental.
